A very big THANK YOU to those who supported the appeal DevA recently ran to raise funds for the Mt Horeb community, in Zambia. DevA Directors and some of the Operations Team connected with Mt Horeb last year during a visit to the Luwi Community Projects. Pastor Jonah and the elders of Mt Horeb Church were working to raise funds to build a new church building for the village, which could also be used a community centre, work centre for women and emergency shelter, among other things.
Pastor Jonah contacted us via one of our Luwi Community partner workers to advise us that while they had managed to complete the foundations, frame and walls, they lacked the funds to complete the roof before the November rains came.
In a short appeal, DevA members and other generous donors were able to raise $1250 ($150 more than Mt Horeb requested). This money has been sent and we look forward to keeping you updated with news of the building progress.
DevA has now also established a new fund account to manage short appeals for immediate or urgent relief for our partners or networked communities.
